Workflows that run on their own

User can now build two kinds of workflows. Alongside the case workflows you know, you can create a workflow without a case: one that runs on a schedule, when a case moves to a stage, when a person runs it, or when files arrive, and does its job without producing anything to review.

What's new

  • Trigger blocks. Every workflow starts with one trigger: Upload, Schedule, Case Event or Manual. The trigger decides when the workflow runs and which kind it is.
  • Upload as. The Upload trigger combines file upload, email and API in one block. Choose Case to create a case per batch, or Files to process the files without one.
  • Schedule. Daily, weekly or cron, in UTC, with a preview of the next three runs and a choice of what to do when the previous run is still going.
  • Case Event. Run a workflow whenever a case of a chosen type moves to one of the stages you select.
  • Lookup for cases. The Lookup block now finds cases in a case type as well as rows in a table.
  • Case Action. Delete, retry or create a case, or upload a document to a case an earlier block found.
  • Case Update anywhere. Point Case Update at the cases to update when the run has no case of its own.
  • Two tabs. Agents Builder lists Workflows and Case workflows separately, with Trigger and Next Run columns, Run and Enable / Disable auto-run in the row menu.

Case workflows are unchanged. Read Two Kinds of Workflows to get started.
