How to Use Docsumo: Explained in 2 Minutes
Docsumo is a powerful document data capture and automation tool that allows you to process and extract information from various types of documents quickly and accurately.
Follow these simple steps to get started in just two minutes:
Step 1. Create a Document Type:
- Upon logging in to Docsumo, you'll be directed to the "Document Types" page. Click on "Add Document Type" to start with.
- Choose the document type that matches the documents you want to process. You can select from a list of 50+ pre-trained document types or even create a custom one if none of the pre-trained types match your requirement.
Step 2. Upload Your First Document
- After selecting the document type, proceed to name your document type and upload the first document you wish to process. Docsumo supports all common document formats, such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, TIF, XLSX, XLS.
Step 3. Define Fields for Extraction(If You Created a Custom Document Type)
- If you opted for a custom document type while choosing the list of document types, you'll need to manually set up fields for data extraction.
- Click "Edit Fields" on the document-type card and add the specific data fields you want Docsumo to capture from the document, such as names, dates, addresses, or any other relevant information.
You do not have to necessarily set up/define fields in the case of the pre-trained document types, as it comes with the set of pre-defined fields which will be auto-extracted without any setup.
Step 4. Review the Document for Extraction
- Docsumo's AI-powered engine will process the uploaded document and extract the specified data fields automatically.
- Review the extracted information to ensure accuracy. If necessary, you can make manual adjustments to improve the results for future extractions.
In case you have created a custom document type, the system might not generate accurate results, here you will only get to see the best possible match, basis the field name you have provided. To improve the performance, you can train a model after you have annotated 20+ documents
Step 5. Download the Extracted Data
- Once you're satisfied with the data extraction, you can download the extracted information in various formats, such as Excel or JSON.
- The downloaded data can be used for analysis, and reporting, or integrated into other systems as needed.
